Trip to Canada

Just got back from my trip to Canada last Monday night. I had a blast! This post is going to be picture heavy, so I hope you’re prepared. We Left our house at 3am on Wednesday morning for MSP (Minneapolis – Saint Paul International Airport) to catch the 6am flight to Detroit, Michigan. From Detroit we flew into Bangor, Maine. We got a rental and started driving to New Brunswick, Canada. We crossed the border in Calais, Maine – which is where this picture was taken.

After the border we stopped at Tim Hortons to get coffee and donuts. My dad (the one in the next picture) is obsessed with Tim’s, as am I but I never get pictures taken of me… never. I always get a Large Triple Triple with a Boston Creme.
Coffee is good!! And, I found out that the Tim Hortons in the states (didn’t know they existed in the U.S.A. till the last day of my trip) runs large on their coffee. The size large in Canada is the size medium in the states. CRAZY! I found this out when I ordered a large triple triple – and received a giant cup of coffee.
After Tim’s we drove to Sussex, New Brunswick, which is the town I used to live in 10 years ago. When we got there we drove around some to find that the town has changed A LOT in 10 years. Our old mall is completely shut down, and everything moved over by the Wally World they just got a year or two ago. That night my brother and I got together with some old friends (Ryan Moss and his wife Kayla, Aaron Moss, Nathan Moss, Aaron Armstrong, Pete Armstrong, and Lauren McCullum) and played some Halo 3 and good old 007 Goldeneye. The next day we drove around some more, visiting our old homes we lived in there, and the school me and my brother went to.
And that night we went bowling with the same group + Bekah Rouse and James Rouse. Sadly I was photo lazy and didn’t bring my camera with for that. After bowling we stopped by Pizza Delight. Donair Pizza and sauce is amazing. Too bad we don’t have it in America. Donair sauce is so good – I’ll try to make some if anyone wants it.

- Bekah and Lauren

- Aaron Moss, Armstrong, My brother Mike, then Bekah and Lauren. They were a few grades a head of me. Me, Ryan and James were in the same class.

-The next day me and my friend Alex Finseth played some pool and ping pong. He’s from Eau Claire, but is going to school at Bethany Bible College there in Sussex.

- A Pano of the Campus from the view of the President’s house.

– This is the new 8 million dollar chapel the school just built. It was only supposed to be 4 million, and it went 4 over budget… and its still not finished… Smart Move. Anyways, my aunt Connie, who passed away a year ago, donated a lot of money to help build this chapel. They dedicated two pillars to her and my family.

This is the pillar dedicated to my aunt.

My good friend, Chris Atkins, spent way too much time at this gym when he went to school at Bethany.

ok, so the next day was Sunday, and we went to our old church, Sussex Wesleyan, which is attached to the Sussex Christian School.

After church we packed up and started heading back to Maine. Along the way back I forced my dad to stop to let me take pictures my way. My way takes an hour, his way takes 10 seconds. My way has hundreds of images, his way has one crappy shot. My way is artistic, his way is indescribably dull.

Here is my bro, he was like, “Hey Jeremy, take a pic of me up here.” so I did.

This is the only decent picture of me on the entire trip…. the one downside to being the only photographer in the family.

CHUCKS! I’m on the beach, in shorts. You’d think life is good eh? Nope, it was cold, I had a poor choice in clothing for those circumstances.

After running along the beach for a good hour we continued on and stopped at a little dinner on the coast. This is a $20 seafood platter. It was the freshest I’ve ever had.

After that we spent the night in a hotel, and flew out the next morning. Sorry it took me so long to get this up here, but I’ve had a busy couple of weeks lately.

Stay tuned, up next is the wedding I shot this past weekend.
